Éventail ancien XVIII ème chérubins antiker Rokoko Fächer antique georgian fan
Superbe éventail ancien datant du XVIII ème siècle. La feuille en parchemin est en excellent état, sans déchirures, peinte à la main aux couleurs fraiches et harmonieuses.
La monture est en nacre finement sculptée, à décor de personnages, attributs et rocailles en monochromie bleu-vert réhaussée d'or. Le dos de la feuil montre un couple de chérubins. Au bas du dos de la feuille, à la jonction avec les brins, 4 bouts ont été recollés. L'un des maitre-brins comporte une restauration peu visible.
La nacre qui est travaillée ici de façon exemplaire est néanmoins plus fragile que les autres habituellement employées à cette époque et nécessite des précautions de manipulations. A fabulous antique georgian fan: the paper leaf is in excellent condition, without breaks, hand painted in harmonious and fresh colors. The sticks are made of delicately hand carved mother of pearl, colored and enhanced with gold accents. At the bottom end of the leaf, there where the leaf meets the sticks, 4 sticks have little repairs. One other stick with a break still needs repair (see last pictures please).
In spite of these tiny flaws this is a very rare and collectable piece and the material it is made of should make the crossing of borders easy. Mother of pearl fans are more delicate than fans made of other materials used in this period and should be handled with care.
